Part of The Last Word Festival, celebrating fearless storytelling, Invisible Presence is a new collective of talented young British Latino writers celebrating the culture of the half a million Latinos living in the UK.

Drugs, Shakira and football. These are the stereotypes usually associated with Latinos. Estamos Presente (we are present) is here to challenge these ideas and to show how rich the culture of British Latinos really is.

The collective includes Hispanic ((Mexican/US born) Armando Celayo, a widely published fiction writer and the winner of the Salt Prize for Flash fiction; two young activists and spoken word artists Colombian Carlos Mauricio Rojas and Rosanna Wiseman; Native American and Mexican born Marina Sanchez and Argentinian translator and short story writer Carla Rodriguez, alongside other writers from Bolivia, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Ecuador.

They will be joined on stage by Argentinian poet Leo Boix, a fellow of the Complete Works Poetry who has published several collections of poetry and is about to publish ground breaking translations of previously unknown writing by Borges. Join these writers for a passionate, fierce and moving journey into the heart of Latin life in the UK. Expect the unexpected.
